Port Stephens is my home. I grew up here and when I say I love it, I truly mean it. This place is full of magic and when it comes to shoot locations...we're absolutely spoiled for choice!

Whether you're local and you want photos where your kids play or you are on holidays here and have no idea where to start...

Below are some of my favourite locations and some things to think about when making your decision. Of course, you don't have to do this on your own - I will check all of the conditions a few days before your session and make sure we've got the best possible conditions.

Wind

If you have spent time choosing an outfit and fixing your hair for photos, the last thing you want is for it to messed up by the wind.

Luckily for us, the way the Bay is shaped and positioned means that if it's too windy at our chosen location...we can jump over to the other side and find a more protected spot.

Sun Time & Tides

During the year, the timing of sunrise and sunset changes dramatically. For a sunrise shoot I will meet you just before the sun rises and we will shoot within the first hour. Sunset, we'll set our shoot around golden hour (the hour before sunset).

At SOME beaches, the tide matters. Some tides are just too low, they show too much seaweed and there's not enough water for us to play in!

Crowds

During holiday periods (especially Summer!) The Bay can get quite busy. Some of the beaches in the area are more popular than others with holiday makers - so if you a little privacy, let me know and I'll direct you to some hidden gems, away from the crowds!
